Effective
Euchre Showdown doesn’t collect any information about you.
Euchre Showdown, the app whose icon reads “Euchre”, is made by Bright Idea Apps, LLC. It has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and it connects to no server of ours. If you sign in to Game Center, or have Pro with iCloud sync on, it also talks to Apple’s Game Center or iCloud, as below.
On your device
Unless iCloud sync is on, your games, statistics and settings are kept only on your device, and in your device’s backups. Deleting the app deletes them.
Friends’ tables
When you play at a friends’ table in the same room, your device connects directly to the other players’ devices, over your Wi-Fi network or straight between the devices, encrypted with a key made from the table’s code. It sends them the name you chose, your moves, and a random name for your device, which lets the host give you your seat back if you drop out. The host’s device sends each player only what that player may see of the game. When the game ends, each device keeps it in its own history. None of this reaches us.
At an online friends’ table, the name you give, your moves and your Game Center player ID travel between the players’ devices through Apple’s Game Center, under Apple’s privacy terms. We run no server and receive none of it.
Game Center
If you’re signed in to Game Center, the app sends Apple’s Game Center your rating and the highest it has reached, the number of rated tournaments you’ve won, your longest run of rated wins, the rated games you’ve won this week and the achievements you’ve earned, and reads them back, for example after you install the app again. Your rating is worked out on your device from your rated games; the games themselves aren’t sent. Game Center shows these to you, and to your friends and other players as your Game Center settings allow. Apple handles them under its own privacy policy, and we receive none of them.
iCloud sync
If you’ve bought Pro and iCloud sync is on, your games, tournaments, rating, achievements, settings and regions are stored in your own iCloud account, encrypted, so that they’re the same on every device signed in to it. They travel between your devices and Apple’s iCloud servers under Apple’s privacy policy; we run no server and can’t read them. A game from a friends’ table goes with the names the players gave at the table, as your history shows it, but not the random names of their devices. You can turn sync off, or remove everything the app keeps in iCloud, in the app’s Settings, and Apple’s Settings app shows the app under your iCloud storage.
Purchases
Purchases are made through Apple’s App Store, under Apple’s privacy policy. We receive no personal information from them.
Crash reports and feedback
If you choose in your device’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us reports of the app’s crashes, which don’t say who you are. If you test the app with TestFlight, the feedback and crash reports you choose to send reach us through Apple, under Apple’s terms for TestFlight. We use them only to fix the app.
This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Cloudflare serves it and keeps its own short-lived request logs under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Nothing on it loads from anywhere else, except that the checker on the Fair Dealing page, when you press Check, downloads Python for the browser (Pyodide) from the jsDelivr network, which sees your device’s internet address as any website does. The checker runs on your device and sends nothing. Mail you send to support@euchreshowdown.com is forwarded to our mailbox and kept only to answer it.
Changes
If what the app or this website does with information ever changes, this policy will change first, with a new effective date above.
