Reporting a problem
It helps to know:
- your device, such as iPhone 16 or iPad Air, and its iOS or iPadOS version (in the Settings app, General, About);
- the app’s version and build, at the foot of the app’s Settings under About, such as “1.0 (3)”;
- what you did, what happened, and what you expected. A screenshot helps.
While Euchre Showdown is in beta, you can also send feedback through TestFlight: take a screenshot in the app and choose Share Beta Feedback, or open TestFlight, choose Euchre Showdown, then Send Beta Feedback. TestFlight adds your device and the build for you.

Getting started
What’s free?
The whole game of euchre: every house rule and built-in region; the computer players at Beginner and Casual, for your partner and your opponents, set separately (a new player starts with a Beginner partner against Casual opponents); one coach hint a game; Partner’s Plays after each hand, saying why your partner played as it did; playing any deal again, from any seat; your first tournament, at Beginner, Casual or Club; rated games, your rating, your stats, achievements and Game Center; joining friends’ tables; and checking every deal. Pro adds the rest.
Where are the settings?
In two places, by when a setting can change:
- Settings on the main menu has Pro, Rating and Game Center, the table’s options, iCloud, Fair dealing and About.
- Settings at the table, in the … menu, has what can change during a game: Pace, Coaching, Dealing display, Cards and Sound.
What only a new game can take is on Single Player, where games start: the Game (partners, or with Pro cutthroat), Players (levels and personalities), House rules, Dealing and shuffle, and Rated games.
How do I change the house rules?
Choose Single Player, then House rules. Its Region row opens the Regions screen: start from one of six built-in regions, Standard, Midwest kitchen table, Canadian / Ontario, British / Cornish pub, Australian / New Zealand, or Tournament (WEF rules), each with a note on where it’s played and what it sets. Then change whatever your table plays differently: points (up to 21) or hands to play to, stick the dealer, the Canadian loner, who leads against a loner, calling for partner’s best, defending alone, super euchre, misdeals and going under for weak hands, the Joker (the Benny), and how the first dealer is chosen. Dealing and shuffle has how everyone deals: each their own way, or one way for every dealer, such as one at a time; and the cut. With Pro, save your table’s rules as a region of your own and take it to the friends’ tables you host. New rules start with your next game.
What’s a rated game?
A rated game counts toward your rating, win or lose. Turn on Rated games on Single Player, or in a new tournament’s setup, before the game starts. A rated game has no hints and no undo: a game played with hints and undo on isn’t rated. A rated game quit once its first hand has been dealt counts as lost. Practice deals and friends’ tables are never rated.
Pro
What does Pro unlock?
- The Club, Strong and Master computer players, for your partner and your opponents, set separately.
- Personalities: bold, cautious, loner-happy, kitchen table, old school and sharp, as well as steady.
- Unlimited hints, and Master Coach: the best move from only what you can see, with each choice’s points and chance of winning the hand.
- Hand reviews: every move explained, your decisions graded, and every card in hindsight.
- Watching the computer play your cards when you play a deal again. Playing it again yourself, from any seat, is free.
- Dealing customs: deal your own way or choose each time, and the kitchen-table shuffle.
- Regions of your own: name your table’s house rules, keep up to twenty, take one to the friends’ tables you host, and add a friend’s from their table.
- Tournaments: as many as you like, at every level, with any regular’s level or personality yours to change. Your first tournament is free, at up to Club.
- Cutthroat: three-handed euchre, the maker alone against the other two, with Master Coach. Choose it in Single Player’s Game section; it has house rules of its own, a nine-card kitty or a dummy hand, and its own rating and achievements.
- Hosting friends’ tables, in the same room or online. Anyone can join free.
- iCloud sync: your games, tournaments, rating, achievements, settings and regions, the same on every iPhone and iPad signed in to your iCloud account.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is one purchase. No ads, ever. It’s shared with your family through Family Sharing, so the people in your family group can have it on their own devices too.
Pro shows as not bought on my other iPhone or iPad.
Open Settings from the main menu and tap Restore Purchases, under Pro, on that device. It needs the same Apple Account you bought Pro with, or one in your Family Sharing group.
The Pro screen says Pro isn’t available.
“Pro isn’t available from the App Store right now” means the app couldn’t reach the App Store. Check that you’re online and signed in to the App Store, then tap Try Again. If Screen Time limits in-app purchases on the device, whoever manages it can allow them. With Ask to Buy, Pro shows as waiting until the purchase is approved.
Friends’ tables
Who needs Pro?
Only the host. Hosting a table needs Pro; anyone can join, free. Computer players fill the empty seats.
How do we play in the same room?
Each person plays on their own iPhone or iPad. The host chooses Multiplayer, then Host a Table. The others choose Multiplayer, then Join a Table, pick the host’s table and type the four digits on the host’s screen. It works on the same Wi-Fi, or with no network at all, straight between the devices.
The first time you host or join, iOS asks whether Euchre may find devices on your local network. Allow it: that’s how tables are found. If it was declined, turn it on in the Settings app under Privacy & Security, Local Network.
How do we play online?
Through Game Center, so everyone needs to be signed in to Game Center (in the Settings app). The host chooses Multiplayer, then Host Online, and shares the link, invites friends, or reads out the table’s code, such as 2MP4-9CMF. The others tap the link, accept the invitation, or choose Multiplayer, then Join Online, and type the code.
Can just two of us play?
Yes. Two of you can play together with computer players as partners or opponents: the host seats people where they like, and computer players take the other seats.
What does the turn timer do?
The host chooses it before the game: 15, 30 or 60 seconds for each decision, or no timer. A bar empties while someone decides and turns red for the last five seconds, when your own iPhone taps out a heartbeat. If time runs out, a computer player makes the move, at the level the host chose, and that person’s next turns get a ten-second short fuse until they move themselves. After three turns in a row run out, a computer player plays for them until they tap I’m Back.
What happens if someone drops out?
A computer player takes their seat and plays for them until they’re back. Their device gets back to the table by itself when it can, or they can join again with the table’s code. Online, if the host’s device drops out, the others wait up to two minutes for it to come back. If the host’s app closes, the host can pick the game up later from Multiplayer, Carry On, and the others join again with the code.
Are there hints and undo at a friends’ table?
There’s no undo. Hints are there only if the host allows them, and they’re off to start with. Each person’s review of a hand shows only what they could see during it. Games at friends’ tables aren’t rated, but each device keeps the game in its history, and its deals can be checked once it’s over.
iCloud sync
What does iCloud sync keep in step?
iCloud sync is part of Pro, and it’s on as soon as you’ve bought it. Your games, tournaments, rating, achievements, settings and regions are kept in your iCloud account, and they’re the same on every device signed in to it that has Pro. The game you’re playing stays on the device you play it on, and sounds stay as each device has them. It’s in Settings, on the main menu, under iCloud.
How do I turn it off, or take my games out of iCloud?
In Settings, under iCloud: turn off Sync with iCloud, or tap Remove from iCloud…, which deletes everything the app keeps in iCloud. Your games, statistics and settings stay on the device either way.
The app asks about “A Different iCloud Account”.
The device is now signed in to another iCloud account than the one it synced with. Add This Device’s Games puts the games on this device into that account. Start from This Account’s Games takes the account’s games and sets this device’s aside, kept on the device for a month. Not Now turns sync off until you turn it on again.
Game Center
How is my rating worked out?
Like a chess rating. Each computer level has a rating of its own, measured over many simulated games with Club at 1500, and a side’s strength comes from both its players’. After each rated game your rating rises with a win and falls with a loss, by more when the result was less likely; the game’s result shows the change and the chance you had. A new rating starts at Casual’s and moves quickly over its first 20 games. Only rated games count.
What’s on Game Center?
Twelve leaderboards: your Rating and your Cutthroat Rating, and the best each has reached; Wins in a Row, your longest run of rated wins with your partner no stronger than either opponent; the rated wins and the rated cutthroat wins of the week, Monday to Sunday; and Tournaments Won at each level, Beginner, Casual, Club, Strong and Master, counting the rated tournaments you finished first in with all seven players at that level. And 46 achievements, most in ladders of three, from your first rated win to five hundred wins at Master.
Do I have to sign in to Game Center?
No. Everything but online tables works without it: your rating and achievements are kept on the device, and Settings, Achievements shows your progress. Signed in, they go to Game Center’s leaderboards too, and come back if you install the app again.
On iOS 27, the Game Center button on the main menu is missing or doesn’t respond.
Restart your iPhone or iPad. Apple’s Game Center overlay can get stuck, and a restart clears it.
Tournaments
How does a tournament work?
Eight players at two tables play seven games, each to 10, or a set number of hands, with stick the dealer. You partner each of the seven others once. After every game each player records their side’s score, and the highest total wins; players level on points are placed by games won, then by their games against each other. The computer plays the other table, and a tournament keeps its place while you play something else. Your first tournament is free, at Beginner, Casual or Club; with Pro you can play as many as you like, at every level.
Who are the other seven?
A named cast, each with a personality that starts as their name does: Steve steady, Brian bold, Cathy cautious, Lonnie loner-happy, Kevin kitchen table, Opal old school and Sally sharp. You pick a level for them all when you start, and before it begins you can rename anyone or, with Pro, change their level or personality.
Fair dealing
How do I know the deals are fair?
Every game is dealt from a seed fixed before the first card. The app shows the seed’s fingerprint before you play and reveals the seed when the game is over, so anyone can deal the game again, in the app or with a published script. How fair dealing works, and a checker.
Can I hide it?
Yes. In Settings, on the main menu, turn off Show fair dealing. Games are dealt and recorded just the same, and the Fair Dealing link stays at the foot of the main menu.
Accessibility
Does it work with VoiceOver and Voice Control?
Yes. Every card, name plate, button and score is labelled; each bid, card played, trick and result is announced; and hints are read out. Every control has a name Voice Control can say, such as “Tap Pass” or “Tap King of spades”.
Larger text, motion and contrast?
Text grows with Dynamic Type to the largest sizes. With Reduce Motion the deal goes out in one step and cards move in a short ease rather than across the table. Colors meet contrast guidelines, and the app follows Increase Contrast and Dark Mode. Teams are named and suits have their symbols, so color is never the only clue.
What are the keyboard shortcuts on iPad?

How do I report an accessibility problem?
Write to support@euchreshowdown.com with your device, what you use (VoiceOver, Voice Control, a larger text size, a keyboard, Switch Control or anything else), the screen you were on, and what happened. We treat these as bugs to fix.
Troubleshooting
We can’t find the host’s table nearby.
- Wi-Fi needs to be on for everyone, on the same network or close enough to connect straight to each other.
- Every device needs Euchre allowed under Local Network, in the Settings app under Privacy & Security.
- Everyone needs the same version of the app. One that’s older than the host’s is turned away with a note to update.
- The code is the four digits on the host’s screen.
An online invitation never arrives.
Check that you’re both signed in to Game Center, in the Settings app, and that notifications from Game Center or Apple’s Games app aren’t turned off or held back by a Focus. Or skip the invitation: the table’s code works on its own, through Multiplayer, Join Online.
A purchase didn’t go through, or Pro went missing.
Tap Restore Purchases in Settings, on the main menu, signed in with the Apple Account that bought Pro. If a family organiser approves purchases with Ask to Buy, Pro arrives once they approve it. A refunded purchase takes Pro away again.
There’s no sound.
The app’s sounds follow the silent switch, or silent mode on the Action button, and play alongside your music rather than stopping it. Check that the device isn’t silenced and the volume is up, and that Sounds is on in Settings, under Sound.
